With the crisis worsening in Gaza, here’s how we in Singapore (and anyone, anywhere in the world, really) can do our part to help the people of Palestine.

Anera (American Near East Refugee Aid) is an American non-governmental organisation. They provide humanitarian and development aid to the Middle East, specifically Palestine (West Bank and Gaza), Lebanon and Jordan.

In light of the Palestinian crisis, they are currently providing an average of 130,000 meals per day, on top of distributing medical aid through free healthcare clinics. They’re also supplying tents, hygiene kits, blankets, and mattresses to displaced families.

Islamic Relief has been offering aid to Gaza since 1994 through their Gaza relief fund. They’ve been instrumental in the reconstruction of the Palestine Avenir Centre that helps children living with disabilities.

They are now working to support the local health care system in Gaza. Your donation will enable their teams to deliver essential supplies and equipment including medicine, medical kits, disposable items and food.

Love Aid Singapore believes “humanity has no race, religion and borders.” It’s founded by social activist Gilbert Goh, who, for the past eight years, has been organising humanitarian trips to help refugees in the Middle East.

Gilbert has been visiting Palestinian refugees in places like Egypt and Lebanon to deliver aid and donations contributed by Singaporeans. He’ll be staying in Cairo till the end of 2024 to facilitate humanitarian aid into Gaza, alongside the International Relief Organisation.

For 37 years, Medical Aid for Palestinians – or MAP – has been working with Palestinian communities, hospitals, clinics and healthcare providers to get medical care to those affected by conflict, occupation and displacement.

While their emergency response is primarily focused on Gaza, they also support medical services in the occupied West Bank, which has recently seen significant elevation of Israeli military and settler violence against Palestinians.

Muslims Around The World (MATW) is working alongside the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organisation, Egyptian Youth Council and Egyptian Red Crescent to provide life-saving assistance in Gaza.

Their efforts are focused on the vulnerable (eg. orphans, widows, the elderly) and more recently displaced families seeking refuge in Egypt. Thanks to donors, they were able to deliver medical kits, urgent food packs, fuel and more.

Singapore’s leading independent disaster relief agency, Mercy Relief has been collaborating with corporate partners to deliver life-saving supplies – and hope – to starving and displaced communities in Gaza.

In response to the worsening situation in Gaza, they are extending their fundraising permit till July 2024 to continue their on-the-ground humanitarian missions. They seek your donations and contribution to their Hope for Gaza, West Bank & Palestine Refugees Fund

Since 2007, the award-winning Muslim Global Relief has been on the ground and borders of Gaza to provide humanitarian relief. They are continually seeking donations for their Emergency Gaza Relief Fund to deliver more life-saving assistance to Palestine.

Their comprehensive Gaza humanitarian response includes: emergency medical assistance, food parcels and nutritious meals, shelter assistance and housing grants, water and sanitation assistance, and essential non-food items such as baby kits, blankets and heaters.

Founded in 1991 by concerned humanitarians in America, Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) provides free medical care to thousands of injured and ill children who struggle with access to care within the local health care system.

Their Gaza Relief and Recovery campaign doesn’t just address urgent humanitarian needs (food, clean water, life-saving medical relief) where they are needed most, but also support long-term recovery efforts.

A Singaporean mutual aid group supporting Palestinians in Gaza, Red Dot Relief is currently on a mission to raise $10,500 for seven central kitchens that serve hot meals to 3,750 Palestinians.

To save those situated in the Palestinian cities of Biet Lahia, Beit Hanoun, Jabalia, Al Shujaiya, Deir al Balah, Khan Younis and Al Zawyada from starvation, each Singaporean need only donate at least $2 (or more).

Save the Children has been providing essential life support to Palestinian kids affected by the ongoing conflict since 1953. They’ve had a permanent presence in the occupied Palestinian territory of Gaza and the West Bank since 1973.

Their teams have been working around-the-clock to find ways to deliver aid to the children of Gaza. These aids include essential supplies like food, water, toiletries and household essentials. They also try to deliver psychological support services to children and caregivers.

Umma Relief has undertaken a multifaceted approach to helping Gaza. On top of providing hot and nutritious meals, they’re also committed to creating a clean, safe and dignified environment for Palestinians through cleaning and spatial transformation efforts,

To help the displaced and homeless survive the freezing nights, they distribute warm blankets. And to support the doctors and nurses who work tirelessly without payment, they distribute envelopes containing messages of gratitude and even financial assistance.

The UN Crisis Relief is managed by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). Donations through this channel are funnelled down to OCHA-managed global and crisis-specific pooled funds.

In this instance, your donation will go to the Occupied Palestinian Territory Humanitarian Fund. One of the fastest and most effective ways to support on-the-ground relief efforts, the fund will go into life-saving activities, such as providing food and shelter in Gaza.

UNICEF – or the United Nations Children’s Fund – is an agency of the United Nations that deals with the provision of humanitarian and developmental aid to children worldwide. It has continuously pressed world leaders for a long-lasting humanitarian ceasefire.

Through donations, UNICEF has dispatched emergency supplies that include water, medicine and life-saving equipment, although significantly more is needed to meet the dire and urgent needs of civilians.

As the United Nations’ sexual and reproductive health agency, UNFPA is concerned for girls and women in Gaza. An estimated 50,000 women are pregnant, but due to the ongoing conflict that sees hospitals being attacked, they do not have access to safe delivery services.

They are working to provide life-saving but out-of-stock reproductive-health supplies. Their network of midwives are also activated to provide support to pregnant women and new mothers while maintaining connections with hospital-level specialists.

UNRWA – or the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees – began operations in1950, and has been carrying out direct relief and work programmes for Palestine refugees till today.

Their multifaceted approach to helping the displaced people of Gaza covers primary and vocational education, health care, social services, infrastructure and camp improvement, microfinance and emergency response.

With 96 percent of the population facing desperate levels of food scarcity, a high risk of famine persists in Gaza. The World Food Programme (WFP) is doing its part by increasing food deliveries and reaching over one million people in Gaza each month.

Thanks to continued generous donations, they are able to partner up with community kitchens to deliver hundreds of thousands of hot meals across central and southern Gaza daily. They’re also helping bakeries by providing wheat flour and miscellaneous resources.
